Why choose Oakcrest

Straight answers about your roof, and a price that does not move

A written price first

You get an itemised quote before any work starts, so you know what you are paying for and nothing changes once the scaffold is up.

Photos of what we find

We photograph the parts of the roof you cannot see from the ground, so you can judge the problem for yourself rather than take our word for it.

Repair or replace, honestly

If a repair will see the roof through, that is what we quote. When a roof is at the end of its life we tell you, so you can plan instead of paying twice.

Tidy sites, waste removed

Your garden, drive and windows are protected while we work, and every old tile, batten and offcut leaves with us at the end of the job.

Drone roof surveys

Our drone roof survey and aerial inspection service provides an instant, efficient and safe way to assess the condition of your roof. Using HD drones, we capture detailed images and videos of hard-to-reach areas, identifying potential issues like leaks, cracks, and structural damage.

This non-invasive method reduces risks and disruption and results in accurate data without the need for roof ladders or expensive scaffolding. Ideal for residential, commercial or industrial properties, this service ensures thorough, cost-effective inspections every time.

We advise that you get your roof professionally surveyed every 2-3 years to keep up with any potential damage and early signs of wear and tear. If we catch minor repairs early, they will not become a more serious problem in the future.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge to come out and quote?

No. The survey and the written quote are free, and there is no obligation to go ahead. You get the price in writing, itemised, before any work is booked.

Which areas do you cover?

We work across Lancashire and Greater Manchester, including Leyland, Chorley, Euxton, Bamber Bridge, Altrincham, Sale, Timperley, Hale, Bowdon, Urmston, Flixton, Davyhulme, Stretford, Eccles, Worsley and Farnworth, as well as Prestbury and Hebden Bridge. If your town is not listed, call 0800 470 0816 and ask.

How do I know whether my roof needs repairing or replacing?

That is what the survey is for. We check the covering, the ridge and verges, the flashings and, where we can, the timbers and felt from the loft. If a repair will give the roof years of life, we quote the repair. If the roof is failing across the board, we explain why a re-roof is the better spend.

Why would I need spray foam removed from my loft?

Spray foam applied to the underside of a roof can trap moisture against the timbers and hide their condition, and many mortgage lenders and surveyors now flag it when a house is sold or remortgaged. We remove the foam, inspect the timbers it was covering and advise on what, if anything, needs doing next.

Do you take on small jobs?

Yes. A single slipped tile, a leaking flashing or a blocked gutter is worth sorting early, because small faults left alone are what turn into ceiling stains and rotten battens.

Will I need scaffolding?

Larger jobs such as re-roofs, chimney work and roofline replacement need scaffold for safe access. Some small repairs can be done from a roof ladder. Where scaffold is needed, it is included in your written quote.
